Khan Academy

What is the Khan Academy?
The Khan Academy is a website where you can get extra math practice on a huge variety of topics.  You can also watch videos on those topics and you can even ask questions.

If you are in the "Gear Up for Algebra" class that will be offered for the first time at Georgetown Ridge Farm High School this coming Fall, then the Khan Academy is the class that you will be taking.

If you are one of my other students, you can also earn extra credit points for completing different exercises on the Khan Academy.

How do I use the Khan Academy?
Even though the Khan Academy is fairly easy to use and understand, I would like to offer a small bit of instruction for my students so that they will be sure to get the extra credit points for their effort on this site.

Step 1: Go to www.khanacademy.org

Step 2: Click on "Do Exercises"

When you click "Do Exercises" you will be asked to log in using either a facebook account or a google account.  Use whichever account you would like to use.  If you do not have either let me know and I can help you get an account, or I can give you a temporary Harmless Online account that will work as a google account.

After you login, you will see a "map" of suggested exercises that you can work on.

Step 3:  Go to the bottom of the page and click "Add Coach" down at the bottom of the page

Step 4:  Type "mattharmless@harmlessonline.net" in the box and click register.  This will make sure that your accomplishments are recorded for me to see.

Step 5:  Now you can click "Do Exercises" again.

Have fun!
